Join us if you or someone you know has decreased mobility, difficulty getting up and down from the floor, or just want to learn ways to add more yoga in throughout your day. We will incorporate the use of a chair for support in both seated and standing poses (if unable to stand we will modify). Learn how to adapt our traditional asanas (yoga poses) just like a regular mat yoga class. Gain strength and flexibility from any chair. You will leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and with the tools you need to practice at home or in the office.
The chakras are the seven major energy centers in the body in which our energy flows through. Blocked energy in our chakras can often lead to illness and disease. In this 8 week series, we will guide you through a series of asanas (yoga postures) specific to the chakra we are focusing on and incorporate aromatherapy in the form of essential oils which correspond to clearing these energy centers. This class is offered in the traditional yoga philosophy and style of Hatha yoga, offering mild to moderate postures and is open to all levels. You do not need to pre-register or attend all 8 weeks. This is a fun and engaging class that develop students’ overall mental, physical, and emotional wellness. Families will learn traditional yoga poses with fun music, games and relaxation techniques. Yoga is non competitive and is a great place to gain self confidence, sense of community, and social skills! Ideal for children ages 3-6 with their caregivers, but all ages and all levels are welcome.
Hatha yoga comes from the Sanskrit words “ha”, meaning “sun”, and “tha”, meaning “moon”. This class focuses on a traditional yoga philosophy. Mild to moderate postures focusing on yoga stretches and breathing technique. Students determine their own level of practice. All levels welcome – Hatha yoga is great for those beginning or returning to their yoga practice as well as those looking for a more gentle approach to yoga.
Continue your yoga practice with these poses designed especially for the new mother. We will focus on postpartum recovery, reclaiming your body and developing strength and flexibility. Breathing practices and calming techniques for both you and your baby will ease the transition at home. Enjoy the benefits of group socialization, bonding and the positive energy created by our welcoming space. This class is designed for new moms and their babies age 6-weeks and older. All levels welcome. Pre-registration is required through St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Pregnancy is a beautiful time to begin or reignite a yoga practice. Labor and delivery is a full body workout. We will help to condition your body in expectance of the big day; through sitting, standing and balancing postures – all safe for any trimester. Our practice begins with a time of sharing with other moms as well as ends with a final relaxation bonding with your baby to be. Also appropriate for new moms just easing back into their practice. All levels welcome. Pre-registration is required.

Explore the therapeutic and restorative aspects of yoga. Bolsters, blankets and other props are used to completely support the body allowing it to open through passive stretching. All levels welcome.
This class will sequence you through both traditional and variations of Sun Salutation sequences as we link our movements to our breath. We will energize the chakras, strengthen the body and refresh the mind. An easier level of flow class, yet still a vigorous workout but a little slower and easier. A good bridge between Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow classes. Variations are offered to invite a gentle approach to this practice as well as opportunities to deepen within your own practice. All levels welcome.
A Vinyasa flow based class designed to energize the body and have fun! Classes set to instructor’s choice of music. This is not “hot” yoga, but we will work on igniting the fire within to create natural heat and encourage the body, mind and spirit to let go of what is unwanted and unneeded. It is helpful to have a basic understanding of yogic breath and some poses before starting TGIF Yoga.
The benefits of meditation are wondrous for the individual, and emanate to the world. Anyone interested in learning to meditate is welcome to join us. Please bring your own meditation cushion if you have one, blankets are provided. No prior meditation experience needed and you do not need to have taken any Buddhist vows to attend. Space is limited. Vinyasa is a Sanskrit word meaning “flow”. Nyasa denotes “to place” and vi denotes “in a special way.” Through Vinyasa yoga, we link our movements to our breath. This class will sequence you through both traditional and variations of Sun Salutation sequences designed to energize the chakras and leave you feeling strong, energized and refreshed. All levels are welcome, however, it is helpful to have a basic understanding of yogic breath and some poses.
Yin Yoga is sometimes described as “acupuncture without the needles” for its ability to help balance “chi” or life force energy in the body. We practice postures that target the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, spine, hamstrings, and thighs. These poses are practiced on the floor for 3-5 minutes each in order to stretch through the muscles and into the ligaments, bones and joints. We’re going deep, yet we remain still. Essential oils are often offered as part of this class to enhance the full mind, body and spirit experience. We will end our practice with a blissful guided meditation. All levels welcome.
The Best of Both Worlds! Balance the intense quiet practice of Yin with the more energetic components of a Yang or Vinyasa practice. Yin postures target the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, spine, hamstrings, and thighs. We will then transition into the Yang portion of the class where will move through variations of Sun Salutations and sequences designed to energize the body leaving you feeling strong, invigorated and refreshed. Yoga Nidra is translated as yogic sleep. It is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equal to 2 hours of normal sleep. This class begins with a gentle flow (movement with breath) to unwind, ground, settle, relax and prepare you for the benefits of yogic sleep. You will then be guided into a supported and comfortable position where the practice finishes with the guided relaxation of Yoga Nidra to nourish the mind, body and soul.
